Veterinary Practitioners Board (VPB), reminds Vets

Recently SCAA contacted the Veterinary Practitioners Board (VPB) of NSW with regrard to what appears to be the growing reluctance of vets to sell the ram sedation drug to wool growers.

As a result of this communication, the VPB has sent a note to Vets to remind them of the need for rams to be sedated prior to shearing. The note also states that it is acceptable for vets to sell the sedation drug (Acepromazine) to the wool grower, for them to administer the drug to their own rams, prior to shearing.
